CKNW News Talk 980 - CKNWAM

CKNW News Talk 980 - CKNWAM: "VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - The company hired to give the Queen Elizabeth Park a multi-million dollar facelift is suing the City and the Vancouver Park Board for being indecisive.

Alexander Construction was hired to build the new plaza at Queen Elizabeth Park. The plaza includes a new pavilion and a dancing fountain. The contract price was set at 4.6 million dollars, but the construction company says the price eventually came to 5.2 million dollars.

In documents filed in BC Supreme Court, the construction company says the plaza design was changed on them a whopping 85 times after the contract was signed. They say work was delayed for three months because the City hadn't fixed the concrete slab underneath the plaza.

They're suing for 1.4 million dollars to cover the extra costs."
